At the Barn

In addition to the riding lessons, campers also have the opportunity to learn about horse management and are required to participate in the daily care of our herd.

Our Barn Classes are elective activities that focus on equine management subjects like horse nutrition, horse show preparation, and equine first aid. You might watch a x-country lesson, lunge a horse, or learn how to apply different kind of wraps.

Each time we ride, it is the campers responsibility to groom and tack up their horse. When the lesson is finished, they cool down the horse, untack them, and sponge or hose them off when needed.

Every camper participates in one hour of clean barn three times a week. We use this time to muck out the barn, paddock area, or pastures. Campers also look forward to being in the oldest cabin, when they get to feed the horses in the morning!
