Why be a CIT?

Being a CIT is a great way to stay involved with the camp community now that you’re older. You’ll experience a new side of camp, helping to make the magic that you experienced happen for younger campers.

The CIT application process and program mimic a “first job” experience. Applying for jobs, interviewing, and meeting expectations in the workplace for the first time can be a challenge. Why not do it at camp where you are familiar with the setting and your supervisors have a vested interest in your success? You will have guidance, instruction, and support through the summer, and will leave with a few new additions to your resume. If you need volunteer hours, internship paperwork, or other documentation, we encourage you to let us know! We’re happy to help facilitate.

In order to become a Junior Counselor at age 17, you must have completed at least one season as a CIT.

What do CITs do?

  • Daily Duties such as Feed, Mini Farm Feed, Dining Hall Queen, Courts Cleanup, etc.

  • Plan and implement a Night Program or all-camp activity
